Prom 2006

The Junior class from Comfrey Public school hosted this year's banquet and prom on Saturday, May 6, 2006. "For one night only, the Sea God Poseidon transformed his underwater abode into a Prom playground for those attending the evening festivities. Couples embarked upon an undersea voyage as their hearts escaped to another place for one night..."

All the planning and preparation came together again as May 6th was the magic date for the Comfrey High School prom. The preparation involved many decisions by the junior class regarding music, the meal, pictures and decorations.

The meal was catered by Teresa Larson and friends with the meat generously donated by Comfrey Enterprises. The waiters
and waitresses from the student body (pictured below) did a fine job assisting with the excellent meal. Decorations proved to be the most challenging with color, cost, theme and layout all taken into consideration.

Now, lets try and put these boxes all together! Many hours in the library helped us get a head start and things really opened up Thursday night as students and advisors worked till eleven p.m. to put the boat together!

Friday the junior class put all the pieces together with lighting and a few extras thrown in. By four p.m. the decorations and dining layout was complete, what a good feeling.

Saturday was the fun part as all the planning and work could be enjoyed. First came couples pictures followed by that great meal, then the Grand March and pictures with friends and family. The dance came next with punch, munchies and a great variety of fun and music.

The post prom party started at midnight with a bus provided to transport the guests to Springfield Lanes where the fun continued until the last stop for breakfast at Perkins in New Ulm.

Special thanks to the juniors for all the plans, money and
time, to Teresa for the fine meal, Rick and Michelle Kasnter for the chicken and beef for the meal, Becky Brown for her energy, spirit and time, Teresa for all the decorations that fit so well and to the post prom parents whe did so much to ensure a fun and safe event. Thank you all so very much.
