On January 27th Jim Meyer, the head of the three-county area S.W.A.T. team and the three-county drug task force presented to the social studies classes, including 8th grade and junior/senior classes. These classes have been studying aspects of our legal system including law enforcement. The law officers helped the students understand the danger, equipment, techniques, stress and skills needed to be an effective officer. Some topics covered included the local drug scene, identification and dangers, hostage rescue, many stories of decades of enforcement work and the fact that the Comfrey area can be a target of criminals too! One quote "I have interviewed over 100 meth users and 100% said they knew they were hooked after one use!"
Thank you Jim, Rick and Derek for helping us understand.
